Montserrat Papias joined the Public Health Institute (PHI) Center for Wellness and Nutrition (CWN) in 2016. As the Health Educator, she worked on the Placer Get Fresh! Project facilitating nutrition education courses, managing the EBT at farmers markets, and assisted in creating a sustainable gleaning system at a farmers market. She takes a part in leading the Sacramento Champion Retail Program developing local partnerships to support retailers in making healthy, sustainable changes a partnership with Sacramento County Obesity Prevention Program. Additionally, she implements the nationally recognized Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters® program as part of the No Kid Hungry® campaign offering food skills education to community partners.
Montserrat holds a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition from the University of California, Davis. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, biking, and tasting delicious food.
