Stephanie joined the Center for Wellness and Nutrition in November 2021 as a Research Associate. Her role provides support for the research and evaluation team on CalFresh Healthy Living Annual Report and Sacramento County projects.
Before her role at CWN, Stephanie worked as an epidemiologist at San Diego County and San Bernardino County. As a county public health epidemiologist, she worked on dashboards and visualizations, Ryan White and HIV/AIDS surveillance data analysis, as well as COVID-19 vaccine data management and reporting. She also worked at the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health in Cincinnati, OH where she supported large occupational health cohort studies.
She served as a Field Project Technical Assistant in 2014 for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Lima, Peru. This bolstered her interest in research and evaluation to improve nutrition and physical activity programs.
She is passionate about public health and using data to monitor and improve health equity. She earned her MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota. In her free time, she enjoys being outside and exploring the natural world.
