Christopher Gomez Wong
Community Engagement Specialist
Christopher (Chris) Gomez Wong is a Community Engagement Specialist at the Public Health Institute’s Center for Wellness and Nutrition (PHI CWN), bringing extensive experience and a strong commitment to community health and nutrition education. Prior to joining the team, Chris supervised the CalFresh Healthy Living program at the University of California Cooperative Extension in Imperial County, where he delivered nutrition education and led initiatives promoting physical activity and garden-related policy, system, and environmental changes.
Chris has a rich history of service to his border community including roles as a UC Master Gardener volunteer, manager of the Calexico Farmers Market, Business Improvement District commissioner, and member of the AB617 Steering Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature with a minor in Latin American Hemispheric Studies from the University of California, Davis.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys playing and coaching sports, as well as indulging his passion for music.
