Diana Peña is a Community Outreach Associate within the Public Health Institute’s Center for Wellness and Nutrition. Diana’s primary role supports the Los Angeles Grocery Voucher Program, which aims to combat food insecurity by partnering with community-based organizations (CBOs) to give residents in Los Angeles County access to nutritious foods.
Diana has a strong background in community health. Previously she worked as a Community Health Worker with Los Angeles County to provide COVID-19 education to increase COVID-19 vaccination rates among Los Angeles residents. Diana also served as a Public Health Associate at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where she was stationed at the Georgia Department of Public Health (GA DPH). There, Diana collaborated with CBOs and GA DPH to reduce child obesity via health promotion campaigns.
Diana attained a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster Pennsylvania. During her free time, Diana enjoys oil painting, traveling, and trying new cafés. Diana is based in Los Angeles County.
