Leonel Jaramillo
Program Associate
Leonel (Leo) Jaramillo is a Program Associate at the Public Health Institute’s Center for Wellness and Nutrition (PHI CWN), focusing on programs addressing food insecurity, grocery/food access, and nutrition-based initiatives in collaboration with community-based organizations across Los Angeles County. With over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, Leonel has specialized in community development, health, and wellness.
Prior to joining the team, Leonel served as the Programs Special Project Manager at Wholesome Wave and as the Food and Nutrition Program Supervisor at the Youth Policy Institute (YPI). At YPI, he contributed to impactful programs such as the U.S. Department of Education’s Carol M. White Physical Education Program and USDA’s Food Insecurity Nutrition Incentive, benefiting thousands of families in the greater Los Angeles area.
Leonel earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2011. Based in Ontario, California, he enjoys continually expanding his skill set and exploring new destinations. An avid food enthusiast, Leo also enjoys experimenting with new recipes, reflecting his passion for food exploration.
