Leonel (Leo) Jaramillo is a Program Associate with the Public Health Institute’s Center for Wellness and Nutrition. Mr. Jaramillo works on programs related to food insecurity, grocery/food access, and other nutrition-based projects, working in partnership with several community-based organizations across Los Angeles County. Mr. Jaramillo has over a decade’s worth of experience working in the non-profit sector, focusing on community development and health and wellness.
Prior to joining the CWN team, Leonel worked with Wholesome Wave as a Programs Special Project Manager and with the Youth Policy Institute (YPI) as the Food and Nutrition Program Supervisor. During his role at YPI, Leonel worked on several programs including the U.S. Department of Education’s Carol M. White Physical Education Program and the USDA’s Food Insecurity Nutrition Incentive, reaching thousands of families in the greater Los Angeles area.
Leonel earned his B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2011. During his free time, Leo enjoys learning new skills, traveling, and trying new recipes; he considers himself quite the foodie. Leonel is based in Ontario, California.
