Spotlighting the Campaign: Rise Together-Youth Mental Health Ambassador Project
Building awareness. Encouraging conversations.
Through the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative – Community Alliances for Local Impact (CYBHI CALI) grant, CAPSLO launched the Rise Together – Youth Mental Health Ambassador Project—a youth-led effort focused on promoting mental health awareness among LGBTQ+ and Latino youth ages 12 to 18 in Northern Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
The project convenes a team of Youth Mental Health Ambassadors who co-
create a culturally responsive marketing campaign designed to spark open conversations about mental well-being between youth and their caregivers. By sharing authentic stories and connecting families to local mental health resources, the campaign aims to reduce stigma, strengthen support networks, and foster healing in the community.
Through this work, CAPSLO continues to live out the Promise of Community Action—changing lives, improving communities, and creating spaces where young people can thrive mentally, emotionally, and socially.
