Building Belonging and Expanding Access to LGBTQ+ Wellness
San Joaquin Pride Center serves as a vital hub for the LGBTQ+ community across San Joaquin County, providing community building, advocacy support, and clinical services that center dignity, safety, and inclusion. For more than a decade, the organization has supported LGBTQ+ youth with affirming spaces, resources, and programs designed to meet young people where they are and help them thrive.
Rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to culturally responsive and affirming care, the Center continues to expand its reach—especially to LGBTQ+ individuals in rural areas and small towns who often face additional barriers to support.
Spotlighting the Campaign: Cultivating Acceptance Program
Care. Connection. Community.
The Cultivating Acceptance Program builds on San Joaquin Pride Center’s long-standing commitment to LGBTQ+ youth and families by strengthening access to mental and behavioral health support across the county. Funded by the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative – Community Alliances for Local Impact (CYBHI CALI) grant to expand equitable access to care, the campaign focuses on reaching communities that are often underserved, including rural populations and youth from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Through community engagement, advocacy, and affirming services, Cultivating Acceptance works to reduce stigma, increase awareness of mental health resources, and foster environments where LGBTQ+ youth feel seen, supported, and safe. By centering acceptance, connection, and culturally responsive care, the program helps build stronger, healthier communities across San Joaquin County.
